House of the Temple

The House of the Temple Historic Preservation Foundation, Inc. was created by the Supreme Council, 33°, to maintain, support, and enhance the House of the Temple as an architectural landmark and as the national headquarters of the Southern Jurisdiction of Freemasonry.

The Temple itself is truly architecturally striking, but what is more important is that it stands as a testament to our ideals of human progress, liberty of thought, freedom of conscience, and equal rights. The Temple’s libraries and museums house extensive antique book and artifact collections, many of which need specialized attention in order to ensure preservation.

It is the duty and goal of the House of the Temple Preservation Foundation to ensure that these treasures last for generations to come, and that through them and our magnificent headquarters, our history is preserved, values communicated, and legacy remains eternal.

The House of the Temple Historic Preservation Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit Virginia corporation recognized as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. Its tax identification number is 52-1664576. Contributions to the House of the Temple Historic Preservation Foundation, Inc. are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
