2nd Annual Scottish Rite Tough Mudder

July 30, 2014

What: The 2nd Annual Scottish Rite Tough Mudder event
Where: Northstar Ski Resort Lake Tahoe
When: August 16, 2014 – Team takes off at NOON
Who is invited: Everyone who wants to support and cheer for the Scottish Rite Team

This year the Scottish Rite Tough Mudder Team for the Lake Tahoe event will start the 11 mile course at Noon. Tough Mudder obstacle courses are designed to test all-around strength, stamina, teamwork, and mental grit. The courses are designed by former British Special Forces. The Lake Tahoe course will include 20+ obstacles. The returning Scottish Rite Team Members from 2013 will navigate an additional one mile added to the course, with several additional obstacles, which will earn them the right to receive and wear a different colored headband that distinguishes them from first time participants. The Tough Mudder event is billed as “Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet.”

Although these are very grueling events, they are also fun events. In keeping with our mission of comradery, education, fellowship, brotherhood, and fraternity we invite you to come join us on the mountain as a spectator. Spectator information and ticket purchase can be found at http://tinyurl.com/SRToughMudder

In addition to supporting your Scottish Rite Team, there is another good reason to support this event. The Tough Mudder organization has chosen the Wounded Warrior Project as their charity of choice. A percentage of all ticket sales go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Thus far, Tough Mudder has donated over $6.5 million to this worthy cause. The Wounded Warrior Project has helped thousands of Wounded Warriors make the transition from the battlefield to life back home. Scottish Rite has a long history of supporting our troops, and is proud to help support the efforts of the Wounded Warrior Project.

Following our kickoff educational event at the Valley of Sacramento on August 13th, 2014, with Ill. Brother Arturo de Hoyos, he will be joining us on the mountain for more roundhouse discussion about all matters of Masonic education. Mudder-up and come support your Scottish Rite Team for a fulfilling and fun day on the mountain.
