Publications – Scottish Rite Research Society

The Scottish Rite Research Society (SRRS) produces two major publications: Heredom, the society’s flagship journal, and The Plumbline, a quarterly digital newsletter.

Heredom

Heredom is the flagship publication of the Society and has been delivered annually to members since 1992. This is the preeminent publication of scholarly Masonic research, recognized and highly anticipated by Masonic scholars worldwide. It is a peerless collection of the finest and most thought-provoking essays on contemporary and historical Freemasonry, emphasizing the Scottish Rite. This annual hardback volume is delivered directly to members of the Society as a benefit of membership. Each volume contains multiple, in-depth manuscripts of Masonic research, reviewed by the SRRS editorial board. Back issues of Heredom may be purchased through our book store.

The Plumbline

SRRS members will also receive our quarterly newsletter, The Plumbline. The SRRS editorial board receives many manuscripts on Masonic history, philosophy, esoterica, customs, traditions, current interest commentary, and related subjects. The Plumbline focuses on research in such areas. Our mission is to provide our readership with scholarly, detailed writing about Freemasonry and the fraternal experience, as well as news and information about current events in the Scottish Rite and Freemasonry in general.
