The Art and Science of Speech, Language and Literacy

Come join us! The RiteCare Conference Program Committee is at the drawing board for the 2012 Conference in Dallas, Texas, which will be held September 13–15. Our conference, titled “The Art and Science of Speech, Language and Literacy,” will be filled with informative presentations by nationally recognized speakers on evidence-based clinical applications. In addition, round table discussion groups and topic presentations will give us an opportunity to share the best and brightest from our RiteCare Clinics and Centers.

The program will feature the nationally known language and literacy experts Doctors Sandra and Ron Gillam presenting on listening and reading comprehension, development of narrative skills and on information processing. The Gillams will be joined by Dallas-based experts including Anne van Kleek, Ph.D., child psychiatrist Callie Emery, M.D., and developmental pediatrician Jeffrey Black, M.D. There will also be a track specifically for clinic administrators and clinic Masonic leadership targeting public awareness, fund-raising, and leadership development. Some of the best programs and practices of our RiteCare clinics will be highlighted in roundtable sessions.

But don’t forget the fun! Since every conference is also a chance to see old friends and make new ones, the conference will begin with a warm Texas-style welcome reception on Thursday evening. On Friday evening, in keeping with true hospitality, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children invites you to the hospital for a special dinner, program, and tours.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available. Limited scholarship opportunities are also available for clinic staff. We look forward to an outstanding gathering.
